The department has two student scientific club (SSC) "Management and operation of transport equipment" and "Logistics, automation of transportation in transport". Students of the department take active part in scientific events of the Institute.

    The purpose of the department's research and development is to attract students to scientific research; to promote the comprehensive development of student's personality, formation of his objective self-esteem, acquisition of skills in creative teams, involvement in organizational and innovative activities; to provide students with opportunity to realize their abilities in solving urgent problems of modern transport equipment and technology.

    The main task is to go beyond the scope of the training program, scientific professionalization of students under the guidance of highly qualified teachers and researchers.

    During the 2019-2020 academic year, students together with teachers of the department completed and implemented 7 diploma projects in educational process and 4 diploma projects in production:
