Today, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek paid a working visit to Atyrau region.
The Minister, together with the Akim of the region Serik Shaikenova, began his working trip by familiarizing himself with the condition of the building recognized as an emergency, in which the dormitory No. 2 of the Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov was located. Currently, students are accommodated in dormitories of other educational institutions of the region, with which relevant agreements have been concluded.
Then Sayasat Nurbek met with students of the Ustaz boarding school for boys at Atyrau University. He talked to the students, got acquainted with the situation of future teachers, read a lecture for them. About 100 students of grades 10-11 from the districts study at this school for free.
After that, the Minister met with the teaching staff of two regional universities - Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov and Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after S.Utebayev. It is worth noting that within the framework of cooperation, Gubkin University presented more than 1300 books to the library of Safi Utebayev University.
Also, during these meetings, the Minister spoke about changes in the field of science and education and further plans of the Ministry's work.
"Currently, a seven-year concept for the development of science and higher education is being prepared. According to this concept, 7.5 billion dollars will be allocated for higher education. These funds will become the basis for the construction of new academic buildings and dormitories, the opening of laboratories and infrastructure development. Priority will be given to higher educational institutions of the regions," the minister said.
Within the framework of the republican forum "Senin Satin", Sayasat Nurbek took part in a meeting of the Student Council under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the event, which brought together student activists from different regions of the country, the Minister shared important information concerning the development of science, higher education, listened to the opinions and suggestions of student activists.
