Ekibastuz Engineering and Technical Institute named after Academician K.I.Satpayev is the only university in the Ekibastuz fuel and Energy Region (ETER) of Kazakhstan with a population of more than 250 thousand people. Ekibastuz has the largest enterprises in the Republic – giants of the energy, coal mining and railway industries. 60% of all electricity produced in Kazakhstan is generated here. Coal production is 70 million tons per year. Every day, 50 trains with coal leave Ekibastuz for Russia alone. The car turnover is more than 23 thousand cars per month.
According to the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People of Kazakhstan, Ekibastuz Engineering and Technical Institute named after Academician K.I.Satpayev is focused on the development of the system of engineering education and modern technical specialties for enterprises of the Ekibastuz fuel and energy complex (ETEK), improving the adequacy of the results of educational activities, bringing the level of training of specialists closer to the needs of the intensively developing economy of the region.
Research activities at the university are carried out in accordance with the Strategic Development Program of the country "Kazakhstan – 2030", the Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Science", "On Education", the Strategic Development Plan and annual research plans, taking into account the priority areas designated by the President of the country.
